Job Opportunity: Code 10 Driver – Thornhill, Eastern Cape
Quantum Foods is seeking a skilled and reliable Code 10 Driver to join our dynamic team at one of our Packstations. This role reports directly to the Distribution Manager and is based at our Port Elizabeth office in Thornhill, Eastern Cape.
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure complete, undamaged, and on-time delivery of loads.
- Maintain cleanliness and safekeeping of vehicles, including equipment and fittings.
- Securely load products to prevent damage during transit.
- Document and report any damaged goods during loading or offloading.
- Manage proper weight distribution when loading the truck.
- Conduct daily truck inspections to ensure safety and maintenance requirements are met.
- Complete and report truck inspections before departure using the driver’s checklist.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safe driving protocols.
- Accurately complete all necessary documentation.
- Report any variances to the Distribution Manager before leaving a customer’s premises.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) / Senior Certificate
- Safe driving record
- Physically and medically fit
- Strong communication and writing skills
- Basic mathematical proficiency
- Clear criminal record
- Reliable transport to and from work
- Sober habits
- Valid Code 10 (C1) license with PDP and a valid medical certificate
- Ability to work overtime and weekends when required
- Minimum of 3 years of professional driving experience
