Position: Claims Service Consultant
Location: Johannesburg, Illovo
Company: SHA Risk Specialists, a division of Santam

Responsibilities

Claims Portfolio Management

  • Assist the Claims Specialist with all aspects related to a portfolio of claims, including:
    • New claims registration
    • Current file diary management
    • Correspondence updates to brokers
    • Handling basic inquiries on claims
    • Payment requests
    • General administrative functions
  • Draft settlement agreements as instructed.
  • Appoint assessors/investigators based on Claims Specialist instructions.
  • Monitor service levels according to agreed service level agreements.
  • Refer assessor concerns to management within the internal protocol framework.
  • Attend to operational duties as assigned.
  • Comply with internal and external regulatory frameworks, processes, and procedures.

Analysis

  • Critically assess information to ensure all relevant details are received.

System Processing

  • Manage all aspects of system processing relevant to a claims portfolio, such as:
    • New claims registration
    • Updating reserves
    • Processing payments

Client Liaison (Internal and External)

  • Respond to queries and resolve them to the satisfaction of the affected parties within the scope of authority/responsibility.

General Administration

  • Handle daily administrative tasks in line with organizational standards, processes, and procedures.
  • Type general correspondence as needed.
