Job Description: The role involves coordinating the workflow within the service department, facilitating communication between service advisors, foremen, and customers. Responsibilities include updating service customers on bookings, liaising with all service staff, ensuring the daily opening and closing of the workshop, and assisting the Controller, Foreman, Service Manager, and Service Receptionist. Additional duties involve booking in vehicles and promoting adherence to safety standards.

Position Overview: Mercedes-Benz The Glen is currently seeking a bookings clerk, reporting to the Service Manager. The ideal candidate will consistently maintain high levels of service and provide excellent customer service.

Specific Role Responsibilities:

  • Understand automotive industry and service procedures.
  • Familiarity with Mercedes-Benz products and services.
  • Manage customer service and administrative tasks.
  • Experience in the motor industry is advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and multitasking abilities.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy (Microsoft Office, booking software).

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Matric/Grade 12 or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Proficiency in English; knowledge of other languages (Afrikaans/Zulu) is a plus.
  • Customer service certification is advantageous.
  • Basic understanding of automotive technology.
