Key Responsibilities

  • Manage employee attendance and leave records
  • Process payroll transactions efficiently, resolve system and employee queries, and manage ESS-related issues to ensure timely payroll completion each month
  • Coordinate and support Department of Labour audits related to payroll
  • Respond to auditor requests and assist with quarterly or ad hoc audit requirements
  • Administer employee benefits including Group Life and Provident Fund
  • Ensure payroll processes comply with all statutory and company regulations, including SARS and internal policies
  • Support the Payroll Manager in verifying data accuracy before salary processing
  • Assist with mid-year and year-end activities, including reconciliations, EMP501 submissions, and other statutory requirements
  • Perform monthly validations, reconciliations, and payroll reconciliations
  • Handle day-to-day payroll processing and maintain accurate records and filing
  • Carry out ad hoc tasks as required
  • Willingness to work overtime to meet critical payroll deadlines

Qualifications and Experience

  • Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
  • Diploma or Degree in Human Resources (advantageous)
  • Proficiency in VIP Payroll and/or Sage 300 People
  • 2–5 years’ experience in payroll administration within a medium to large corporate environment
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential
  • Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
  • Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Well-organised with a strong work ethic
