Key Responsibilities
- Manage employee attendance and leave records
- Process payroll transactions efficiently, resolve system and employee queries, and manage ESS-related issues to ensure timely payroll completion each month
- Coordinate and support Department of Labour audits related to payroll
- Respond to auditor requests and assist with quarterly or ad hoc audit requirements
- Administer employee benefits including Group Life and Provident Fund
- Ensure payroll processes comply with all statutory and company regulations, including SARS and internal policies
- Support the Payroll Manager in verifying data accuracy before salary processing
- Assist with mid-year and year-end activities, including reconciliations, EMP501 submissions, and other statutory requirements
- Perform monthly validations, reconciliations, and payroll reconciliations
- Handle day-to-day payroll processing and maintain accurate records and filing
- Carry out ad hoc tasks as required
- Willingness to work overtime to meet critical payroll deadlines
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate
- Diploma or Degree in Human Resources (advantageous)
- Proficiency in VIP Payroll and/or Sage 300 People
- 2–5 years’ experience in payroll administration within a medium to large corporate environment
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills essential
- Strong attention to detail and high accuracy
- Ability to meet tight deadlines and work independently
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Well-organised with a strong work ethic
