Key Responsibilities
As a Debtors Clerk, your duties will include but are not limited to:
- Managing the complete debtors function for the dealership
- Opening new accounts and performing thorough reference checks
- Accurately maintaining and updating account reconciliations
- Escalating account issues to relevant department managers (e.g., F&I)
- Monitoring outstanding balances and preparing aging reports
- Ensuring all customer account details are current and accurate
- Preparing and distributing customer statements
- Allocating deposits correctly to corresponding accounts and invoices
- Following up on overdue payments
- Building and maintaining professional relationships with debtors
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel
- Financial qualification will be advantageous
- Prior experience as a Debtors Clerk, preferably in the commercial vehicle sector, is a plus
