Job Overview

Isuzu Isando is seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Debtors Clerk to manage and maintain accurate accounting records, ensure timely collection of outstanding payments, and reconcile customer accounts. The ideal candidate will possess strong numerical and organizational skills, along with a solid understanding of bookkeeping principles.

Key Responsibilities

As a Debtors Clerk, your duties will include but are not limited to:

  • Managing the complete debtors function for the dealership
  • Opening new accounts and performing thorough reference checks
  • Accurately maintaining and updating account reconciliations
  • Escalating account issues to relevant department managers (e.g., F&I)
  • Monitoring outstanding balances and preparing aging reports
  • Ensuring all customer account details are current and accurate
  • Preparing and distributing customer statements
  • Allocating deposits correctly to corresponding accounts and invoices
  • Following up on overdue payments
  • Building and maintaining professional relationships with debtors

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel
  • Financial qualification will be advantageous
  • Prior experience as a Debtors Clerk, preferably in the commercial vehicle sector, is a plus
