POSITION: LECTURER – ACCOUNTING EDUCATION

Duties & Responsibilities
PURPOSE OF THE POSITION: The Lecturer will play a crucial role in enhancing the teaching and learning aspects of both undergraduate and postgraduate Accounting Education and Economics Education programs at the Mahikeng Campus.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Teaching and Learning:
- Facilitate teaching and learning processes for both distance and on-campus delivery modes.
- Research:
- Completion of a PhD.
- Community Engagement:
- Engage in community outreach and the application of expertise.
- Administration:
- Undertake general administration tasks at the program and module levels.
Desired Experience & Qualification
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- A Master of Education degree (NQF level 9) in Accounting Education OR a Master of Commerce (NQF level 9) with Accounting and Economics specializations, accompanied by an Education qualification.
- A minimum of 3 years’ teaching experience in a higher education institution.
KEY FUNCTIONAL/TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES:
- Undertake undergraduate teaching and learning.
- Possess excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
- Demonstrate analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effectively manage time and work well under pressure.
- Exhibit computer literacy (MS Office) and knowledge of cloud storage.
- Experience in developing teaching and learning materials.
- Ability to teach large classes in both distance and on-campus modes.
- Conduct research and use various methodologies for teaching, learning, and assessment.
- Proficient in modern platforms (e.g., online interactive whiteboards, eFundi, e-learning, etc.).
- Demonstrate language proficiency for optimal function in diverse multilingual environments at NWU.
- Ability to participate in the supervision of postgraduate students.
- Commitment to advancing personal scholarship through activities such as publishing articles and conference outputs.

REMUNERATION: The annual total remuneration package will be commensurate with the advertised level of appointment and in line with NWU policy guidelines.
