Introduction
Heartland Foods, an innovative and passionate breakfast cereal manufacturer located in the Mkondeni area of Pietermaritzburg, is seeking a driven individual with a strong interest in stock reconciliation, manufacturing processes, and accounting.
Duties & Responsibilities
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing debtors and creditors
- Maintaining asset registers
- Preparing books to trial balance
- Conducting stock verification
- Preparing monthly and weekly management reports
- Overseeing internal control sign-offs
- Ensuring smooth internal document flow for accurate reporting and data entry
- Reviewing team members’ work
- Training and developing team members
- Verifying manufacturing processes
- Performing physical stock counts
- Ensuring system integrity
- Reconciling bills of materials (BOM)
- Managing overall stock control

Specific Requirements:
- 3-5 years of experience in accounting
- Proficiency in the following software:
- Pastel
- Sage One
- Excel
- Word
- SARS eFiling
- SARS EasyFile
- Ability to read, write, and compile management reports
