Job Description
Position: Code 14 Driver
The Transport Department seeks skilled Code 14 Drivers responsible for operating various Code 14 vehicles. Key duties include:
- Ensuring the safety of both the vehicle and its load.
- Conducting daily vehicle inspections and reporting any faults.
- Loading and unloading various materials and equipment.
- Complying with the Road Traffic Act.
- Ensuring the safety of other road users.
- Adhering to the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and road regulations.
- Navigating routes within the Gauteng area.
Required Experience
- Minimum of a Grade 12 certificate.
- Valid, unendorsed Code 14 license with a valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- At least 3 years of driving experience.
- Practical, hands-on approach to the job.
- Experience with manual gearboxes.
- Advantageous: Experience operating a Mounted Grab Crane, skip, or RoRo.
- Required: Experience reversing a draw-bar trailer.
