Full Job Description
We are currently seeking a Driver for Extra Heavy Motor Vehicles at our Kempton Park Depot. This position involves driving vehicles with a gross weight of 15,000 kg or more to various locations for goods collection and delivery. Duties include recording deliveries and collections, as well as performing routine vehicle maintenance and cleaning.
Responsibilities:
- Assist and supervise the loading of the delivery vehicle.
- Verify that all loaded goods match the Delivery Notes and sign for load acceptance.
- Check goods against the Delivery Note when offloading with the customer and ensure the customer signs the Delivery Note as Proof of Delivery (POD). Note and have the customer sign for any missing goods.
- Collect payment for COD orders from customers.
- Collect returns as listed on Goods Return Vouchers (GRVs) as required.
- Perform daily and weekly vehicle checks as per the Company’s Vehicle Checklist, complete the checklist, and report any issues before leaving the warehouse.
- Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition at all times, promptly reporting any defects to the Depot/Stores/Dispatch Supervisor.
Requirements:
- Grade 12 (essential)
- Code 14 Driver’s License
- Strong interpersonal skills
