Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely deliver goods from one destination to another within the required time frame.
- Adhere to schedules, procedures, regulations, and proper use of resources.
- Ensure the safe handling and operation of the vehicle.
- Conduct daily vehicle inspections, reporting all faults and serious mechanical issues to appropriate personnel.
- Complete vehicle inspection sheets and refuel vehicles as needed.
- Check the truck list and follow the designated route to the destination.
- Inspect the truck and load before departure.
- Comply with safety regulations while driving.
- Adhere to the Road Traffic Act and ensure the safety of other road users.
- Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and road regulations.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and verify documentation against loads.
- Deliver correct quantities and loads as scheduled.
- Obtain signed proof of delivery upon delivery.
- Load and unload products, including pallets.
- Handle returns of products, empty containers, and undelivered invoices.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and orderliness according to 5S standards.
- Report to work with all required PPE.
- Communicate daily activities through the provided system.
- Accurately complete all required documents.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a driver within the industry.
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license.
- Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
- RSA ID.
- Completed Matric.
- Comfortable working day or night shifts.
- Flexible, punctual, and reliable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
