About Our School:
Reddam House Bedfordview is a premium co-educational private school situated near the prestigious Kensington Golf Course. We provide a balanced, holistic, and innovative learning experience that encourages students to realize their unique gifts, talents, and abilities in pursuit of academic excellence. Job Summary:
We are seeking an enthusiastic and capable College English Teacher to join our team, promoting student success and responding to identified student needs through a comprehensive school counseling program that addresses academic and personal/social development for all students. This full-time role is set to commence in Term 1 of 2024.
Role Summary:
The driver is responsible for providing a safe and reliable bus service, transporting students to and from school, performing school-related errands, and transporting students to field trip locations. The driver will establish effective rapport with students and ensure all passengers follow Reddam House mandated procedures.
Key Responsibilities:
- Obey all traffic laws.
- Refrain from reporting to work or driving a bus under the influence of alcohol.
- Arrive at the bus 15 minutes before departure from school or before a field trip.
- Stay attentive to traffic and weather conditions, maintain schedule, and ensure passenger safety.
- Ensure the bus is in good operating condition by testing brakes, tires, lights, and other components, completing the pre-trip inspection daily, and submitting it to the Estate Manager/Principal.
- Travel with a fully charged cell phone.
- Wash the bus inside and out twice a week, and sweep and empty bins daily.
- Uphold a positive image of Reddam House through safe driving habits.
- Wear the school-issued uniform identifying the driver as a school employee.
What We’re Looking For:
- Prior experience driving a bus, preferably a school bus.
- Ability to communicate well with students, staff, and parents.
- Positive attitude and strong interpersonal skills.
- Strong organizational and time management abilities.
- A committed team player with the ability to take initiative.
- Matric Graduation Certificate.
- Code 10 Driver’s License.
- Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).
- Proficient in reading, writing, and speaking English.
