Comprehensive Job Description
This position is based in Doha, Qatar, working for Qatar Duty Free at the world’s award-winning best airport.
Food Servers are responsible for positive guest interactions, serving guests in a friendly and efficient manner. They take guest orders and serve food and beverages to tables.
Responsibilities:
- Prepare tables by setting linens, crockery, and cutlery. Escort guests to their tables when required, and serve food and beverages.
- Obtain food from the kitchen, serve food and beverages, and remove unnecessary items such as cutlery.
- Clear dishes after each course, address any guest complaints, and relay messages to the Food and Beverage Supervisor.
- Monitor tables during meals, empty ashtrays, refill water, and attend to additional guest needs.
- Check with guests to ensure they are enjoying their meals and take corrective actions if needed.
- Complete closing side-work duties and perform basic cleaning tasks as directed by the Supervisor.
- Consistently adhere to grooming and appearance standards.
- Comply with health and safety policies and procedures.
- Explain menu items, ingredients, and cooking methods to guests when required. Inform guests of daily specials and answer menu-related questions, making recommendations upon request.
- Stock service areas with supplies as required. Properly wipe cutlery and glassware.
- Serve food at buffet services when needed.
- Perform other department-related duties as directed by the Head of the Department.

Qualifications
A successful candidate should have the following qualifications:
- Experience working at well-known restaurants or hotel chains
- Provide excellent customer service at the outlet
- Communicate efficiently and professionally with customers and team members
- Understand and communicate products and services available at the airport
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Ability to work well in a team
- Ability to handle multiple tasks, prioritize, and meet deadlines with a sense of urgency
- Good communication skills
- Ability to work in a busy environment and handle pressure
- Fluent in reading and writing English
