Introduction
Phakisa Holdings is currently looking for a Van Assistant based in the Alexandra/Tembisa areas.
We are in search of a dependable and physically fit Van Assistant to support our delivery operations. In this role, you’ll work closely with the driver to ensure goods are loaded, transported, and delivered safely and efficiently. The ideal candidate should be organized, punctual, and customer-focused.
Key Responsibilities
- Loading & Unloading: Assist with loading and unloading goods, ensuring they are handled with care to prevent damage.
- Delivery Support: Help verify orders, collect delivery confirmations/signatures, and support timely, accurate deliveries.
- Van Organization: Keep products neatly arranged in the vehicle for easy access and safe transportation.
- Route Assistance: Support the driver with navigation and route planning for efficient deliveries.
- Customer Service: Interact professionally with customers, addressing basic inquiries or concerns politely.
- Safety Adherence: Follow all safety protocols while handling goods and assisting during deliveries.
- Inventory Checks: Track deliveries and report any order issues or discrepancies for inventory accuracy.
- Van Cleanliness & Maintenance: Ensure the van remains clean and report any mechanical or operational concerns to the logistics team.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Matric / Grade 12
- Physically able to lift and move heavy items throughout the workday
- Strong communication skills and a team-player attitude
- Attention to detail and commitment to safe, accurate deliveries
- Previous experience in delivery, logistics, or warehousing is advantageous
- A valid driver’s license is a plus, though not mandatory
Compensation
Hourly Rate: R44.50
