Truck Driver

Position Overview

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Truck Driver to support our logistics and warehouse operations. The ideal candidate will ensure safe, timely, and accurate movement of goods between the production facility, warehouse, and external delivery points, while adhering to all safety and regulatory standards.


Minimum Requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification
  • Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PDP and a clean driving record
  • Proven experience operating heavy-duty trucks
  • Solid understanding of driving regulations and traffic laws
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Familiarity with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) and health & safety standards in a factory environment

Key Responsibilities:

  • Transport products within the yard, between the production plant, and various company warehouses as required
  • Log daily vehicle use including date, time, kilometer readings, and destination
  • Record product movements accurately in the shunting book
  • Load and offload goods using a forklift and transport products efficiently and accurately
  • Operate all vehicles in line with health, safety, and company policies
  • Adhere strictly to truck driving regulations, including size, weight, and speed limits, as outlined by the Road Traffic Act
  • Inspect all equipment (trucks and forklifts) before use and report any issues or defects
  • Conduct pre-trip vehicle inspections and ensure equipment is maintained in proper working condition
  • Follow delivery schedules provided by the supervisor and deliver goods to designated warehouses accordingly
  • Secure all loads to prevent damage and ensure only undamaged goods are transported
  • Retrieve only quality Chep pallets from customers
  • Maintain thorough daily records to ensure accurate tracking of deliveries and pickups
  • Report any incidents, damages, or traffic violations promptly and notify supervisor of vehicle maintenance or service needs
  • Assist with general warehouse and distribution tasks as needed to support operational goals
