Job Description

The primary role is to guide the implementation, installation, configuration, and testing of system software on all relevant mainframes. This includes coding and automating tasks to optimize processing in line with business requirements. The role also involves delivering operational and cost targets.

Responsibilities:

  • Installation and Setup: Install and set up workstations and servers for all mainstream manufacturers (IBM, HP, Dell).
  • Daily Operations: Perform daily capacity and health checks, software maintenance, and customization.
  • Active Directory Management: Manage Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and WINS.
  • Batch Processing: Create batch schedules, change orders, and basic JCL and automation code. Support batch FTP and create FTP encryption data.
  • Security: Control illegal intrusions and manage the corporate server infrastructure, advising on security enhancements.
  • Backup Systems: Maintain backup systems according to baseline standards to ensure business continuity.
  • Resource Allocation: Prioritize resource allocation to minimize and reduce wastage, and identify, control, and escalate potential risks that may increase costs.
  • Relationship Management: Build relationships to manage expectations, share knowledge, and create buy-in. Engage in cross-functional relationships for work support.
  • Customer Service: Deliver excellent customer experience aligned with organizational values and service standards. Build long-term professional relationships with customers.
  • Reporting: Provide regular reports on service delivery against agreed service level agreements and customer targets.
  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with relevant statutory, legislative, policy, and governance requirements.
  • Process Improvement: Implement, monitor, and control business processes according to quality standards, policies, and governance. Suggest and implement improvements to streamline processes.
  • Performance Assessment: Assess own performance, identify development needs, and select effective solutions for personal development.
