Position Overview:
Our client, a respected player in the construction and building sector, is seeking a reliable, well-organized, and motivated Storeman & Driver to join their dynamic team based in Athlone, Western Cape.
Minimum Requirements:
- Matric (Grade 12) with relevant certifications
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP
- Own reliable vehicle
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
- Proficient in Microsoft Office
Key Responsibilities:
Driving Duties:
- Safely operate company vehicles in accordance with road safety laws
- Transport materials, equipment, and personnel to various job sites
- Conduct daily vehicle checks to ensure cleanliness and roadworthiness
- Maintain accurate records of all vehicle usage and trip logs
Warehouse Operations:
- Keep the warehouse neat and well-organized
- Receive, inspect, and store all incoming materials and tools
- Pick and prepare items for delivery to job sites
- Monitor stock levels, report shortages, and support with stocktaking
Plant & Equipment Management:
- Issue and receive tools and equipment, maintaining accurate logs
- Inspect equipment before and after each use
- Maintain a current plant and equipment register
- Coordinate repairs or replacements when necessary
Health & Safety Compliance:
- Comply with all safety regulations and wear required PPE
- Report any hazards, incidents, or unsafe conditions to management
- Operate all vehicles and machinery in a safe and responsible manner
- Adhere to company policies and standard operating procedures
