Job Overview
We’re looking for a Picker to join our warehouse team. Your primary responsibilities will include selecting and packing goods for store deliveries while ensuring the highest quality standards. This role plays a key part in improving operational efficiency, customer satisfaction, and overall profitability. You will report to the Floor Manager, Floor Supervisor, and Checker, and will be expected to work scheduled shifts during both trading and non-trading hours.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and fulfill orders as per daily schedules (picking, packing, wrapping, and labeling).
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace while maximizing storage efficiency.
- Report any inventory discrepancies or issues promptly.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with supervisors and co-workers.
- Operate warehouse equipment and vehicles as needed.
- Adhere to all operational procedures, quality standards, and safety regulations.
- Perform heavy lifting and manual handling of goods when required.
- Use your product knowledge (especially fruits and vegetables) to ensure correct order fulfillment.
- Work efficiently, particularly during peak periods.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Matric Certificate
- Proven experience as a Picker in a warehouse setting
- Proficient in English (spoken and written)
- Must live within a 15 km radius of the warehouse
- Clean criminal record
Preferred (Not Mandatory)
- South African citizenship
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar warehouse picking role
