Job Overview:
The primary purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive administrative and operational support to the divisional heads of the Integrated Economic Accounts and Business Cycle Analysis divisions within the Economic Statistics Department (ESD).
Key Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Managing and maintaining the divisional heads’ calendars, including scheduling appointments and coordinating travel logistics.
- Ensuring timely submission of documents to relevant committees, such as the Governors’ Executive Committee.
- Preparing and editing correspondence, presentations, agendas, and pre-reading materials, and conducting basic research as needed.
- Taking, preparing, and distributing accurate minutes for divisional meetings, management discussions, and project committees.
- Organizing and maintaining both physical and digital records in line with the South African Reserve Bank (SARB) file management system.
- Creating and updating a contact database for the divisions.
- Providing administrative support for ESD projects, such as coordinating the Group of Twenty (G20) Data Gaps Initiative.
- Handling any additional duties assigned by the divisional heads.
- Upholding confidentiality in all matters related to the divisional heads’ offices.
- Managing internal and external relationships by engaging professionally with stakeholders at various levels.
- Collecting and organizing project-related information on behalf of the divisions.
- Reviewing and enhancing administrative processes to improve efficiency.
- Coordinating divisional meetings, team-building events, and other functions.
- Distributing official correspondence, circulars, and memorandums within the ESD and SARB.
Minimum Requirements:
To be considered for this role, applicants must have:
- A Grade 12 certificate and a Diploma in Office Administration (NQF 6).
- Two to five years of experience as a corporate personal assistant or in a similar role.
Additional Skills & Competencies:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Teams, and Outlook).
- Ability to work independently and outside of standard working hours when required.
- Excellent minute-taking and typing skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

- Organizational awareness and the ability to take initiative.
- High attention to detail and a strong commitment to tasks.
