Position Title: Payroll Administrator (Accounting Background)
Location: Johannesburg


Primary Purpose

We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Payroll Administrator with a solid background in Accounting to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely processing of monthly payroll, maintaining detailed payroll records, and ensuring compliance with tax and benefit regulations. This role also includes capturing payroll data into the accounting system and assisting with report generation and payroll data management.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support the end-to-end payroll processing function on a monthly basis
  • Verify the accuracy of employee information and payroll inputs
  • Resolve payroll discrepancies and address employee payroll queries professionally and promptly
  • Collaborate with HR and Finance teams to ensure adherence to internal policies and statutory requirements
  • Reconcile payroll accounts and compile regular reports for management
  • Assist with financial audits and other reporting requirements as necessary
  • Keep up to date with payroll legislation and regulatory changes to ensure continued compliance

Candidate Profile

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline

Experience:

  • Minimum of 3 years’ payroll administration experience, preferably in a corporate environment
  • Proficient in payroll systems such as SAGE People 300
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
