Full Job Description
Motus IT is seeking qualified and experienced Network Administrators to assess network requirements and manage firewall changes and associated applications. Ideal candidates should have strong technical troubleshooting skills and a proactive approach to support a robust network team.
Position Overview
Specific Role Responsibilities:
Overall:
- Provide onsite and remote desktop support promptly and efficiently.
- Essential knowledge of AD/DNS/DHCP/GPO/VPN.
- Configure and maintain network devices.
- Coordinate with vendors and suppliers for solutions, maintenance, and support.
- Set up new hardware and software.
- Configure and install software, servers, routers, and other network devices.
- Provide second-line support for switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Proactively monitor all network infrastructure.
- Perform technical troubleshooting on all network infrastructure.
- Communicate with users as needed.
- Suggest improvements to network performance, capacity, and scalability.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Matric (Grade 12).
- A valid CCNA (Cisco Certified Network Associate) certification is ESSENTIAL.
- At least 3 years of relevant experience as a Network Administrator.
- Experience with firewalls is advantageous.
Skills and Personal Attributes:
- In-depth understanding of communication protocols and routing protocols.
- Experience with network diagnostic, monitoring, and analysis tools.
- Knowledge of coding languages for scripting.
- Experience in configuring LAN and WAN environments.
- Own car or transport.
- Familiarity with access control models and network security.
- Availability to work after hours and weekends when needed.
- Ability to work independently.
- Ability to mentor team members on technical issues.
- Strong team player.
