We’re currently looking for a General Assistant to join our team!
In this role, you’ll be an important part of the customer experience—assisting shoppers, providing product information, managing transactions, and keeping the store clean, stocked, and welcoming. Your positive attitude and commitment to excellent service will help create a great shopping environment and strengthen our store’s reputation.
Key Responsibilities
Your daily duties will include:
- Offering accurate product information and helping customers make informed choices
- Responding to customer queries and resolving issues in a friendly and efficient manner
- Welcoming customers and providing assistance in a helpful, approachable way
- Informing customers about current promotions and special offers
- Ensuring customer satisfaction through professional service
- Handling payments (cash and card), issuing receipts, and processing returns or exchanges
- Receiving stock deliveries, organizing inventory, and keeping accurate records
- Restocking shelves promptly and ensuring displays remain tidy and fully stocked
- Disposing of store waste properly and placing it in designated bins
- Assisting in regular stock takes
- Maintaining a clean and safe work environment, including storerooms and kitchens
- Following all store safety, security, and emergency procedures
Minimum Requirements
To qualify for this role, you’ll need:
- A Matric certificate (Grade 12)
- Proficiency in English
- Residence within 25 km of the store location
- A clear criminal record
Preferred Attributes
While not essential, the following will be an advantage:
- South African citizenship
- Previous experience as a Team Member or in a similar retail environment
