Position Available:
We are currently looking for a Light Motor Vehicle Driver to join our team in Epping, Cape Town. This role involves operating cars and light motor vehicles (under 3000kg GROSS VEHICLE WEIGHT) for the collection and delivery of goods, documents, and passengers. The position also includes responsibility for basic vehicle care, cleanliness, and routine maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with and oversee the proper loading of the delivery vehicle
- Verify all loaded items against Delivery Notes and confirm acceptance of the load
- Upon delivery, check goods with the customer and ensure the Delivery Note is signed as proof of delivery (POD). Any discrepancies must be noted and signed for by the customer
- Collect payments from customers for Cash on Delivery (COD) orders when applicable
- Ensure all goods delivered are clean, well-packaged, and in saleable condition
- Submit all PODs and COD payments to the relevant Supervisor upon return to the warehouse
- Collect returns as specified on Goods Return Vouchers (GRVs), when required
- Return all goods and GRVs to the Supervisor upon completion of the delivery
Requirements:
- Minimum Education: Grade 12 / National Senior Certificate (Essential)
- Driver’s License: Code 8 (Required); Code 10 (Preferred)
- Professional Driving Permit (PDP): Preferred
- Willingness to work overtime when necessary
