The primary objective of this position is to ensure the safe transportation of goods to and from destinations while strictly adhering to established procedures.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent (Grade 12)
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in delivery services
- Valid driver’s license with PDP is essential
- Proficient time management abilities are essential
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to perform effectively under pressure
- Demonstrated honesty and integrity
- Sober lifestyle
- Clean criminal record
Key Performance Indicators include, but are not limited to:
- Conducting pre-departure and return inspections of the vehicle
- Submission of inspection lists to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for approval before issuance of new inspection lists
- Immediate reporting of any vehicle errors before departure
- Collaborating with the supervisor to check parcels before loading, adhering to the New Dispatch Loading procedure
- Timely delivery of parcels to customers along designated routes as per schedule and trip sheet
- Ensuring customers comply with Proof of Delivery (POD) procedures
- Adhering to Return for Credit (RFC) procedures
- Delivering all assigned documents and collection slips, obtaining POD
- Signing trip sheets with the POD clerk and ensuring completeness of assigned documents the following day
- Accountability for outstanding trip sheets and liability for claims on No POD queries
- Prohibition of stock transfers between customer shops
- Maintaining and cleaning the vehicle, promptly reporting any issues to the dispatch supervisor
- Reporting delivery or POD-related problems to the dispatch supervisor
