Employer: Dis-Chem Pharmacies Limited
Dis-Chem Pharmacies is looking for a reliable Driver with a valid car and motorbike license to join the team at our Wonderpark store. The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering goods to customers efficiently, safely, and professionally.
Minimum Requirements
Essential:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- Valid driver’s licenses for both motorbike and car
- Willingness and ability to work retail hours and/or shifts
Advantageous:
- Previous experience in a similar delivery role
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure safe and timely delivery of products to customers in a courteous manner
- Assist with dispatch functions as needed
- Deliver the correct items to the correct customers on time
- Prioritize cold chain items and ensure they are transported with cooler boxes and cold packs
- Use the most efficient route to and from delivery locations
- Return to the store promptly after each delivery to maximize vehicle usage
- Repack the vehicle after deliveries to prevent damage
- Be accountable for any damage or loss during transit
- Handle fragile and hazardous items with special care
- Maintain company standards for delivery accuracy and efficiency
- Follow all delivery and collection instructions
- Verify and return collections, store returns, and inter-branch transfers properly
- Ensure all delivery paperwork is accurately completed and signed
- Keep accurate records of all invoices and log sheets
- Adhere strictly to company vehicle policies
- Maintain an up-to-date vehicle logbook
- Process EFT and cash payments when necessary
- Never leave the vehicle unattended during deliveries
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained
- Conduct pre-trip, trip, and post-trip vehicle inspections
- Report accidents or incidents immediately
- Follow all traffic regulations and be responsible for any traffic fines
- Build positive relationships with customers through professional and courteous service
- Report customer feedback, complaints, or compliments to management
Key Competencies

- Good time management skills
Advantageous:
- Bilingual
- Ability to identify and report suspicious behavior
Special Conditions of Employment
- Must be able to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically fit to lift and move heavy boxes while following health and safety guidelines
- Must have reliable transport or live close to the store
- South African citizen
