Job Opportunity: Code 14 + PDP/DGP Driver (Cape Town)
Introduction
Phakisa Holdings is looking for a qualified Code 14 Driver with a valid PDP/DGP to join our team in Cape Town.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Load and offload trucks efficiently, ensuring proper handling of pallets.
- Maintain a consistent supply of hot bottle flake for the Erema department.
- Serve as a relief driver, covering routes and making customer deliveries as needed.
- Complete a trip sheet for each dispatched trip, detailing customer invoices and delivery notes.
- Conduct a daily vehicle inspection before dispatch, ensuring the vehicle is sanitized and the load is secure, complete, and compliant with Caprichem and customer standards.
- Verify that invoices align with the stock loaded for each planned route.
- Ensure the vehicle has a valid license disc and promptly notify management when renewal is due.
- Report all vehicle damages on the log sheet and to the Dispatch Manager.
- Follow all reasonable work-related instructions.
- Operate and maintain three trucks (link, 16-ton, and 8-ton), keeping them clean and assisting with loading alongside two dispatch clerks.
Requirements
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license with PDP (no endorsements).
- Dangerous Goods Certificate (DGP).
- Minimum of 5 years of driving experience.
- Valid forklift license.
- Additional training in advanced driving of links is advantageous.
- Experience in both local and long-distance deliveries and collections.
- No criminal record.
Package & Remuneration
- Salary: R10,000 – R13,000 per month + overtime.
