About the Role
Our client, a reputable Civil Construction Company in the Boland region, is looking for an experienced Lowbed Driver to transport heavy construction vehicles and machinery safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a lowbed truck to transport heavy equipment and machinery to various construction sites.
- Ensure all cargo is securely fastened before transportation and inspect the vehicle for defects and safety compliance.
- Plan travel routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist with the safe loading and unloading of cargo.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck as required.
- Comply with traffic laws and regulations while maintaining a clean driving record.
Required Qualifications & Experience
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license with no endorsements.
- Valid PDP license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in lowbed driving within the civil construction industry.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
- Must reside within a 70 km radius of Wellington.
- Willingness to travel and work away from home when required.
- Ability to safely load and unload heavy equipment onto the lowbed.
- Strong understanding of traffic laws and regulations.
- Physical stamina to manage long driving hours.
- Attention to detail for the safe transport of equipment.
- Ability to maintain the truck in excellent condition through regular cleaning and maintenance.
Salary & Benefits
- Monthly Salary: R12,000 – R20,000 (Total Cost to Company).
