Job Opportunity: Experienced Lowbed Driver
Introduction
Our client, a leading Civil Construction Company in the Boland area, is looking for an experienced Lowbed Driver to transport heavy construction vehicles and machinery to various sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a lowbed truck to transport heavy equipment safely.
- Ensure cargo is properly secured before transport and inspect the vehicle for defects.
- Plan travel routes and schedules for timely deliveries.
- Assist with loading and unloading of equipment safely and efficiently.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck as required.
- Comply with traffic laws and regulations, maintaining a clean driving record.
Requirements & Qualifications
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license (no endorsements).
- Valid PDP license.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in lowbed driving within the civil construction industry.
- Fluency in Afrikaans and English.
- Must reside within 70 km of Wellington.
- Willing to travel and work away from home when required.
- Ability to load and unload heavy equipment onto the lowbed.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and road safety regulations.
- Physical stamina for long hours of driving.
- Attention to detail to ensure safe transportation and vehicle maintenance.
Compensation & Benefits
💰 Salary: R12,000 – R20,000 (total cost to company per month)
