Our client in the construction industry is looking for an experienced Low Bed Driver to transport heavy equipment and machinery to various construction sites.
Key Responsibilities:
- Operate and drive a lowbed truck to transport heavy equipment safely.
- Secure cargo properly before transport and inspect the vehicle for any defects.
- Plan travel routes and schedules to ensure timely deliveries.
- Assist in safe loading and unloading of cargo.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of the truck.
- Comply with traffic laws and safety regulations while maintaining a clean driving record.
Requirements:
- Valid Code 14 driver’s license with no endorsements.
- Valid PDP license.
- Minimum 5 years of lowbed driving experience in civil construction.
- Fluent in Afrikaans and English.
- Must reside within 70 km of Wellington.
- Willing to work away from home occasionally.
- Ability to load and unload heavy equipment safely.
- Strong knowledge of traffic laws and road regulations.
- Physical stamina for long driving hours.
- Attention to detail to ensure safe transportation of equipment.
- Ability to maintain the lowbed truck in good condition, including cleaning and routine maintenance.
Desired Skills:
- Traffic law knowledge
- PDP license
