Introduction

We are seeking a reliable and experienced Driver to efficiently deliver a variety of goods to multiple customers along a designated route, assisted by a Van Assistant. This role involves ensuring timely, accurate, and safe deliveries in compliance with company and legal standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Complete daily vehicle inspections and promptly report any issues to management
- Maintain cleanliness and roadworthiness of the truck in accordance with the Road Traffic Act
- Safeguard goods during transit and ensure deliveries are made on time, following the Trackmatic route sheet and instructions
- Utilize the Trackmatic delivery app to action each stop, measure turnaround time (TAT), and record trip distances
- Adhere strictly to all company policies and government transportation regulations
- Handle all necessary delivery documentation and obtain required signatures
- Maintain open communication with dispatch about traffic delays, shortages, or any customer-related issues
- Take full accountability for stock loaded and offloaded during the trip
- Accurately complete the route pack as per departmental procedures
- Return excess, damaged, or rejected goods with clear documentation and explanations
- Protect company assets by following vehicle safety protocols, including locking and securing the vehicle at every stop
- Follow distribution and management instructions precisely
- Refuel the vehicle at approved stations before returning to the depot, ensuring all fuel receipts are submitted during debrief
- Ensure stock is transported in compliance with food safety and hygiene standards
- Maintain appropriate temperature controls for refrigerated, chilled, and ambient products during delivery
Requirements:
- Matric / Senior Certificate (Grade 12)
- Valid Code 14 Driver’s License (held for over 5 years) with a current Professional Driver’s Permit (PrDP)
- Strong driving skills with a clean driving record
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in the FMCG sector
- Over 5 years of experience in trucking and delivery services
- Good numeracy and literacy skills
- Effective communication abilities, with the ability to read and write
- Proficient in using GPS and maps for route planning and navigation
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations
- Ability to follow instructions and uphold company standards
- Dependable, honest, and professional in handling complaints or issues on route
