Job Overview
We are hiring experienced Code 14 Drivers to join a well-established grocery chain on a permanent basis. In this role, you’ll play a key part in ensuring goods are delivered safely, accurately, and on schedule. The ideal candidate is reliable, punctual, and a strong team player with a solid driving record.
Key Responsibilities
As a Code 14 Driver, your duties will include:
- Conducting pre-trip vehicle inspections
- Transporting goods to the correct destinations on time
- Reporting any vehicle issues to supervisors promptly
- Loading, offloading, and securing cargo safely
- Reviewing and following delivery instructions accurately
- Obtaining delivery confirmations or signatures
- Driving in accordance with traffic laws and safety regulations
- Maintaining records such as invoices, fuel receipts, and working hours
- Ensuring vehicle tyres are properly inflated based on load weight
- Keeping driver’s license and vehicle documentation current and visible
- Ensuring vehicle cleanliness, safety, and proper storage
- Reporting any incidents, accidents, or violations on the road
- Verifying quantities of loaded items before departure
Minimum Requirements
To be eligible for this position, you must have:
- Grade 12 / Matric
- A valid EC (Code 14) driver’s license
- A current Professional Driving Permit (PrDP)
- Proven experience as a Code 14 Driver
- Proficiency in English
- Reside within 25 km of Epping, Western Cape
- A clear criminal record
Preferred Criteria
The following are not mandatory but will be beneficial:
- South African citizenship
