Duties & Responsibilities
Safe and Compliant Driving
- Adhere to all traffic laws and company safety regulations.
- Perform thorough pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections.
Timely Deliveries
- Follow designated delivery schedules and deadlines.
- Plan efficient routes to minimize delays.
Cargo Handling
- Load and unload goods properly to prevent damage.
- Secure cargo in compliance with safety standards.
Effective Communication
- Provide clients with timely updates on deliveries.
- Promptly report any issues or delays.
Documentation & Record-Keeping
- Maintain accurate delivery logs and required paperwork.
- Ensure all vehicle maintenance records are up to date.
Vehicle Maintenance
- Report any maintenance needs promptly.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-organized.
Customer Service
- Maintain a professional demeanor while interacting with clients.
- Address customer concerns and inquiries efficiently.
Fuel Efficiency
- Monitor fuel consumption and adopt efficient driving habits.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Matric/Grade 12 (NQF 4) – Essential
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license – Essential
- 1-2 years of proven experience as a driver
- Valid PDP (advantageous)
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively
- Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach
- Good verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent knowledge of local routes
- Strong multitasking and time management abilities
