Full Job Description
The Freightmore Group of Companies is seeking a Code 10 Driver with the following requirements:
Requirements:
- Matric and good communication skills
- Proficiency in at least two official languages (preferred)
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with PDP (held for at least 2 years)
- Minimum 5 years of driving experience
- Experience with Volvo and Scania trucks is advantageous
- Clean criminal record
- Professional appearance and well-groomed (PPE must be clean and worn at all times)
Responsibilities:
- Assisting drivers with safe reversing maneuvers
- Communicating with zone controllers via mobile phone
- Maintaining vehicle cleanliness (inside and out)
- Ensuring tools and equipment are clean and properly stored
- Reporting any losses, damages, or discrepancies related to cargo, equipment, or paperwork
- Engaging with clients in a professional and courteous manner
Additional Requirements:
- Willing to work overtime
- Own transport is advantageous (company transport provided only when legally required and may be charged to the employee)
- Basic computer skills are a plus
- Must have a working cellphone
- Approximately 5 years of freight experience is beneficial
- Willingness to undergo a pre-employment polygraph test
- Must provide at least two contactable references
