A leading manufacturer of catering and baking equipment is seeking a Driver to join their team in Bellville South, Cape Town.
Key Responsibilities
- Follow instructions, read location and road maps.
- Pick up and deliver products, verifying load accuracy.
- Load and unload equipment and spares safely.
- Assist with loading and offloading.
- Maintain delivery records.
- Inspect, refuel, and clean vehicles; complete pre-trip and post-trip inspections.
- Report vehicle issues, damages, and road incidents.
- Comply with traffic laws—no reckless driving or speeding.
- Inspect and report issues with trucks, bakkies, and forklifts.
- Follow accident procedures.
- Keep an activity log and track work hours.
- Plan and adhere to delivery routes; report any deviations due to traffic.
- Ensure timely and damage-free delivery, following proper rigging procedures.
- Maintain a professional and customer-friendly attitude.
- Wear company uniform and necessary safety PPE at all times.
- Use forklifts, cranes, and pallet jacks to transport and handle equipment.
- Ensure all delivery documentation is signed by the customer and security personnel.
- Assist with stock-taking on designated Saturdays (7:00 AM – 5:00 PM).
- Unpack, position, and set up equipment at client sites, performing minor connections and testing as required.
- Remove PVC coatings, clean, and inspect delivered equipment.
- Assist with warehouse organization, stock-taking, and general housekeeping.
- Perform long-distance trips to install bakery and catering equipment in other provinces.
Required Skills & Qualifications
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Fluent in English and Afrikaans.
- Grade 12 qualification.
- Valid Code 10 driver’s license with crane, forklift, and PDP certification.
- Willingness to work overtime as required.
- Reliable transport to and from work.
