Full Job Description
The Transport Department is seeking Code 14 Drivers responsible for operating a variety of Code 14 vehicles. Key tasks include:
- Vehicle and Load Responsibility: Ensure the vehicle and its load are secure.
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct daily inspections and report any faults.
- Loading and Off-loading: Handle various materials and equipment.
- Road Traffic Compliance: Adhere to the Road Traffic Act.
- Safety: Ensure the safety of other road users.
- Regulatory Compliance: Follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act, company policies, and road regulations.
- Navigation: Efficiently navigate the Gauteng area.
Qualifying Experience
- Minimum Grade 12 certificate
- Valid, unendorsed Code 14 license with valid PDP
- 3 years of driving experience
- Hands-on and practical approach to the job
- Experience driving manual gearbox vehicles
- Advantageous: Experience with Mounted Grab Crane, skip, or RoRo
- Required: Experience reversing a draw-bar trailer
