Full Job Description
Duties & Responsibilities:
- Safely deliver goods from one destination to another within the required time frame.
- Comply with time schedules, procedures, regulations, and proper use of resources.
- Ensure safe handling and operation of the vehicle.
- Conduct daily inspections of the vehicle and report any faults or serious mechanical problems to the appropriate personnel.
- Complete vehicle inspection sheets and refuel vehicles as needed.
- Check the truck list and follow the designated route to the destination.
- Inspect the truck and load before departure.
- Adhere to safety regulations while driving.
- Follow the Road Traffic Act to ensure the safety of all road users.
- Comply with the Occupational Health and Safety Act regulations.
- Follow company policies and road regulations.
- Ensure vehicles are loaded correctly and check documentation against the loads.
- Deliver the correct quantities and loads.
- Ensure all proof of deliveries are signed upon delivery.
- Load and offload products, including pallets.
- Return undelivered products, empty containers (lugs), and invoices.
- Maintain cleanliness, safety, and an orderly workplace in compliance with 5S standards.
- Report to work with all required PPE.
- Communicate daily activities using the provided system.
- Accurately complete the required documents.
Requirements:
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a driver in the industry.
- Valid code 14 driver’s license.
- Valid PDP.
- RSA ID.
- Completed Matric.
- Comfortable with working day or night shifts.
- Flexible, punctual, and reliable.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
