Position: Driver
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliveries and physical handling of stock.
- Inventory control and assisting with proper storekeeping management methods.
Specific Duties:
- Receive stock.
- Pack stock safely and correctly.
- Maintain a clean and tidy warehouse.
- Assist customers with loading orders.
- Deliver to customers efficiently, adhering to road rules and regulations.
- Load and offload stock.
- Ensure dispatched stock matches delivery notes.
- Obtain customer signatures on delivery notes and return copies to administration.
- Collect orders from local suppliers efficiently, adhering to road rules and regulations.
- Perform general vehicle maintenance (fueling, maintaining tire pressure, keeping the vehicle clean).
- Notify the Office Coordinator when the vehicle needs service or repair.
- Handle relevant paperwork (petrol slips, toll fee slips) and submit to administration.
- Assist with stock take.
- Perform any other related tasks as needed.
Location:
- Pietermaritzburg, Mkondeni office, and other locations as determined by the employer.
Reporting Relationships:
- Reports to: Stores Controller
- Manages: None

Minimum Qualification and Experience Requirements:
- Valid driver’s license (minimum Code 08).
- Valid PDP permit (preferred).
- Must have own vehicle.
- Valid forklift operator’s license (company will assist in obtaining the first license, employee to keep it valid).
- High school (Matric Certificate) and/or other relevant qualifications.
- Store or warehouse experience.
- Experience driving in Pietermaritzburg.
