Operations:
- Act as a vital link between service providers, customs, depots, and operational staff.
- Submit customs documentation and coordinate customs examinations, port health, and anti-smuggling inspections as necessary.
- Collect and deliver freight, ensuring accurate completion of PODs (Signature, name, company stamp, and date).
- Expedite cargo collection and delivery upon release to prevent storage issues.
- Verify the correctness of cargo by conducting checks and weighing, promptly informing the office of any discrepancies.
- File entries and PODs, monitor and report on storage, and assist with RIB and RIT acquittals.
- Conduct daily vehicle checks following the checklist.
- Check for import documents from airline handling agents daily.
- Communicate with all departments to prioritize crucial cargo and make alternative delivery arrangements when needed.
Sales & Service Coordination:
- Maintain customer service levels by serving as a crucial front-line link between the office and clients, demonstrating effective communication skills and initiative.
- Follow up on leads or communicate opportunities to the Line Manager.
- Manage Company-owned property, including the airfreight vehicle and cell phone, with the Company’s best interest in mind.
- Document daily log sheets detailing the number of calls, times, kilometers, and client signatures.
- Immediately report any accidents to SAPS and the Manager.
