Position Overview
Midas is seeking a goal-oriented and enthusiastic Driver to join our Elarduspark branch. The main responsibility of this role is to ensure the safe delivery of goods, while strictly adhering to all procedural guidelines.
Specific Role Responsibilities
Key Performance Indicators include, but are not limited to:
- Vehicle Inspection: Conduct pre-departure and return inspections of the vehicle. Submit inspection lists to the Dispatch Supervisor every Monday for sign-off before receiving a new list.
- Error Reporting: Report any vehicle errors immediately before departure.
- Parcel Checking: Verify parcels with the supervisor before loading, following the New Dispatch Loading procedure.
- Parcel Delivery: Deliver parcels to customers on your designated route as per the schedule and trip sheet.
- POD Procedure: Ensure customer compliance with the Proof of Delivery (POD) procedure.
- RFC Procedure: Adhere to the Return for Credit (RFC) procedure.
- Document Handling: Deliver all documents and collection slips assigned to your trip sheet and obtain POD. Sign trip sheets at the POD clerk and ensure all assigned documents are completed and returned the following day. You are responsible for any outstanding trip sheets and liable for any claims related to missing PODs.
- No Stock Transfers: Ensure no stock transfers occur between customer shops.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Maintain and clean the vehicle, reporting any issues immediately to the dispatch supervisor.
- Problem Reporting: Report any issues encountered during deliveries or with PODs to the dispatch supervisor.
Qualifications and Experience
- Grade 12
- At least 3 years of delivery experience
- Valid driver’s license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit) – Essential
- Good time management skills – Essential
