Our work culture is adapted to the constantly evolving South African health care environment, making it ideal for solution-driven team players seeking career development while working to connect people with care.Purpose of the Position:To conduct outreach activities within the community of people who inject drugs by providing accurate health information, HIV counseling, and driving the outreach team to designated and scheduled sites daily.Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 10Valid Code 08 or 10 driver’s license with PDP (Professional Driving Permit)Accredited finger-pricking HIV testing certificateMinimum of 2 years driving experienceMinimum of 6 months experience in HIV counseling and testingGood communication skillsProficiency in English and isiXhosa/any local languageClear criminal record
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Identify and educate PWID clients on prevention interventionsDistribute HIV prevention commoditiesActively identify the need to refer clients to other multidisciplinary teamsProvide accurate and current health information to PWID using a variety of delivery strategiesEnsure the safety of the outreach team by adhering to driving regulationsContinuously assess and report any need for repairs or maintenance of the vehicleMaintain relationships with health services managers, indoor managers/owners, and other stakeholdersUtilize provided record-keeping formats for data capturing and reportingActively participate in mapping activitiesProvide support and encouragement to PWID
