Job Title: Shuttle Driver

Job Purpose:
The primary responsibility of this role is to transport employees, visitors, materials, and equipment to designated locations in accordance with DBSA shuttle services. The role requires adherence to vehicle maintenance procedures, traffic regulations, and timely delivery or collection of goods. The driver must ensure the daily itinerary is strictly followed as assigned by the line manager.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Transport and Delivery:
- Safely transport staff and visitors to and from designated points within the required timeframe.
- Maintain an updated logbook before and after each trip, ensuring compliance with SARS regulations.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations to ensure a secure travel environment.
- Accurately record mileage and odometer readings.
- Collect and deliver parcels, documents, and mail as required by DBSA.
- Ensure timely delivery of Board documents to Board Members.
- Handle the collection and delivery of foreign exchange documents and other materials for Treasury.
- Deliver documents to various departments, including SARS documents for Payroll.
- Report any vehicle breakdowns, accidents, or incidents to the appropriate authorities and supervisor.
- Complete occurrence registers for refueling and incident reporting.
2. Vehicle Maintenance:
- Perform daily vehicle checks per Road Traffic Act and Regulations, including:
- Monitoring oil, water, fuel levels, and tire pressure.
- Inspecting tires for wear, rotating them periodically, and ensuring proper alignment.
- Operating the vehicle safely according to road, weather, and traffic conditions.
- Maintain the cleanliness of both the interior and exterior of the vehicle.
- Notify the manager of necessary maintenance and schedule service appointments as required.
- Monitor fuel usage and ensure timely refueling.
- Ensure the vehicle is equipped with emergency tools such as a first-aid kit, fire extinguisher, and reflective triangles.

Qualifications & Experience:
Minimum Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
- Valid driver’s license with a Passenger Driver Permit (PDP).
- 3-5 years of experience as a passenger or delivery driver.
