Full Job Description
CMT is seeking a qualified and experienced driver based in Ekurhuleni. This role is ideal for a local resident with a valid, unendorsed SA driver’s license, a valid PDP, and immediate availability.
Position Details:
- Reporting to: Designated District Manager
- Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine checks on the company vehicle
- Select appropriate routes based on workload and area knowledge
- Provide friendly and efficient service
Salary: Based on experience
Key Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive defensively and follow all traffic laws
- Maintain careful and cautious driving habits
- Ensure the vehicle is always fueled and ready for use
- Inspect vehicles for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips
- Submit monthly written reports on vehicle conditions
- Report any vehicle problems and ensure repairs are made
- Report any vehicle accidents or damage immediately
- Maintain an accurate vehicle logbook, recording work hours, travel time, and locations
- Keep mileage and repair records up-to-date
- Manage petrol card and vehicle keys
- Ensure the vehicle is well-maintained, clean, and regularly serviced
- Safely park and secure the vehicle at office premises overnight
- Transport Ekurhuleni field staff for work-related meetings/events
- Arrive at destinations on schedule
- Run work-related errands
- Provide overall team support
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the manager
Requirements:
- Matric or equivalent work experience
- Valid driver’s license and PDP
- 2-3 years of driving experience
- Proficiency with maps, GPS systems, and car manuals
- Effective communication skills and knowledge of the local language
- Good interpersonal communication in English, both written and spoken
- Professional image and demeanor
- Ability to meet deadlines and manage time effectively
- Support and recognize business values
- Willingness to cooperate with other CMT staff members
- Punctual, reliable, and accurate
- Positive attitude and team player
