Duties & Responsibilities
The driver is responsible for the safe and timely transportation of goods, passengers, or materials while adhering to traffic laws, safety regulations, and company policies. This role requires vehicle maintenance, completion of necessary documentation, and adherence to a daily schedule provided by the procurement manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Safe Transportation: Ensure the secure and punctual transport of goods, passengers, or materials while complying with all traffic laws and company policies.
- Vehicle Maintenance: Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks, reporting any mechanical issues to prevent breakdowns.
- Efficient Route Planning: Identify and follow the most cost-effective and time-efficient routes, adjusting for traffic or weather conditions as needed.
- Accurate Documentation: Maintain records such as delivery logs, trip reports, and vehicle inspection forms to ensure compliance.
- Fuel & Vehicle Monitoring: Track fuel consumption, mileage, and vehicle condition to optimize efficiency and timely servicing.
- Health & Safety Compliance: Follow all safety protocols, including securing cargo, wearing seat belts, and ensuring the safe loading and unloading of materials.
- Regulatory Compliance: Maintain a valid driver’s license and adhere to all legal and company driving regulations.
- Effective Time Management: Ensure timely deliveries, pick-ups, and arrivals while accommodating potential delays or schedule changes.
