Duties & Responsibilities
Role Purpose:
The Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe and timely delivery of goods, ensuring vehicle roadworthiness, accurate order verification, effective communication, adherence to safety and compliance standards, and excellent customer service.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate records of daily activities, including mileage, fuel consumption, delivery receipts, and incident reports, in compliance with company and regulatory requirements.
- Provide professional and courteous communication with customers, warehouse personnel, and other stakeholders, addressing inquiries and concerns promptly.
- Report vehicle mechanical issues and maintenance needs promptly, following company procedures for vehicle maintenance and repairs.
- Adhere to all company policies, including vehicle operation, safety, and code of conduct.
- Comply with all relevant traffic laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly equipped vehicle, ensuring necessary documentation is readily accessible.
- Follow safety guidelines and use appropriate PPE to mitigate risks.
- Foster a safe work environment and ensure safety compliance.
- Participate in team meetings and support operational goals.
- Attend coaching and training sessions.
- Contribute to the achievement of team goals.
Desired Experience & Qualification
Qualifications & Experience:
- Grade 12 (Matric) certificate or equivalent.
- 3-5 years of proven driving experience, preferably in the FMCG retail industry.
- Valid Code 10 or Code 14 (EC) driver’s license and a valid PDP.
