Our client is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Deal Administrator to join their team. The ideal candidate will have strong accuracy skills and experience in managing transaction lifecycles, ensuring compliance, and facilitating seamless deal execution.
Experience & Qualifications
- Experience in a legal, financial, or administrative support role, particularly in deal administration or legal support.
- A qualification in business administration, finance, or law is advantageous.
- Familiarity with legal document management, compliance processes, and reviewing legal agreements.
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in SharePoint for document management and organization.
- Strong command of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) for documentation and correspondence.
- Experience with conducting credit checks, CIPC checks, and handling digital storage of legal documents.
- Knowledge of digital platforms for uploading, managing, and distributing legal documents for signature.
Compliance Knowledge
- Understanding of credit checks and CIPC checks to ensure transaction compliance.
- Familiarity with drafting and reviewing legal documents, loan agreements, and investor schedules.
Key Responsibilities
Deal Management & Execution
- Receive and process deal leads, ensuring all required information is complete.
- Coordinate with internal teams to manage transaction timelines.
- Maintain detailed records of deals and update the internal deal dashboard.
- Conduct compliance checks, including credit and CIPC checks.
- Assist in preparing investor schedules and loan agreements.
- Upload legal documents for signature, manage digital storage, and distribute copies.
- Provide administrative support for loan disbursements, repayments, and documentation.
Legal & Compliance Support
- Review and resolve discrepancies in legal documentation from outsourced legal teams.
- Maintain summaries of securities per deal and liaise with legal teams for necessary support.
- Send repayment notices to borrowers (one- and two-month notices).
- Support general document management via SharePoint.
- Assist analysts and external legal teams (Werksmans) by providing necessary documentation.
- Perform credit checks and ensure compliance with regulatory processes.
Administration & Reporting
- Maintain and update the deal dashboard, including key terms and upcoming maturity reminders.
- Prepare investor schedules (the only in-house legal document, following a set template).
- Review legal documents prepared by Werksmans under a three-eye policy for accuracy.
- Maintain the legal dashboard, track outstanding information, and follow up with Werksmans.
- Compile deal packs for submission to the investment committee.
- Manage email correspondence, scheduling meetings, and setting reminders for key dates.
- Handle ad hoc administrative requests from stakeholders, such as borrower invoice requests and credit information.
