Purpose of the Position:

The Data Capturer is responsible for accurately capturing HIV and TB data into the monitoring systems in line with DCS programme requirements, ensuring timely data submission as per the THC M&E framework, and adhering to the M&E policies and procedures for the DCS and DoH.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Matric
  • Relevant diploma or degree, or at least 2 years of relevant experience in lieu of a qualification
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in data management, data verification, and quality assurance
  • Net data management is essential
  • Excellent administrative and organizational skills
  • Previous experience within Correctional Services is an advantage
  • Intermediate level computer skills including MS Office
  • Proficiency in English and another African language
  • Valid code 08 driver’s license

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Capture all HIV/TB information from primary and secondary sources.
  • Ensure timely submission of data to the Regional Data Monitors.
  • Maintain excellent communication with HAST Counsellors and Health Managers.
  • Conduct routine audits and data quality checks with the support of the Regional Data Monitor.
  • Ensure systematic daily filing of patient and inmate records, including blood results.
  • Regularly attend data verification meetings with various Correctional Centres.
  • Maintain signed copies of all monthly and quarterly data submission reports.
  • Adhere to the Confidentiality Policy for patient/inmate information for DCS, DoH, and THC.
  • Communicate any challenges or data collection/capturing issues to the Data Monitor promptly.
  • Document daily activities and report them monthly to the Data Monitor.
