Responsibilities
Execute General Duties Undertake routine duties and functions inherent in a professional Laboratory Service. These responsibilities include, among others:
- Record temperature logs in designated logbooks.
- Report client-related issues promptly to the manager.
- Collect blood specimens and deliver reports within specified timelines.
- Ensure timely and secure transportation of blood samples.
- Visit doctors according to the assigned roster or supervisor’s instructions.
- Maintain a minimum standard of efficiency and accuracy to meet company benchmarks.
- Adhere to delivery/pickup instructions provided by the manager.
- Verify and sign for all collections, store returns, and inter-branch transfers in the receiving area.
- Comply with the company vehicle policy consistently.
- Complete and maintain an accurate car logbook.
- Ensure the vehicle is never left unattended during the delivery process.
- Keep the vehicle clean and well-maintained.
- Inspect the car for defects and safe operating conditions before, during, and after trips, reporting concerns to the manager.
- Report all accidents and incidents involving drivers or company equipment.
- Follow road traffic rules and regulations as per the National Road Traffic Act.
- Take responsibility for any traffic fines related to the car you drive.
- Foster effective relationships with internal and external customers to enhance operational efficiencies.
- Cultivate long-term customer relationships through prompt and courteous service.
- Maintain professional conduct while interacting with customers.
Essential Requirements:
- Grade 12 (Matric)
- 3 years of experience in courier services
- Valid South African driver’s license
- Excellent communication skills
- Outstanding customer service skills
- Honest and reliable
- Basic computer skills
- Laboratory experience (Advantageous)
- Ability to work shifts when required
