Position: Project Coordinator

Location: Northern Suburbs (Cape Town) or Johannesburg (Gauteng)
Contract Type: 12-Month Fixed-Term
Salary: R20 000 – R30 000 per month (Negotiable based on qualifications and experience)
Travel: Must be willing to travel
Equity Position: Open to HDI candidates only, in line with company BEE requirements


About the Role:

Our client, a well-respected and established name in the Waste Management sector, is looking for a Project Coordinator to join their innovative and driven Enterprise team. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in managing the administrative and logistical components of various projects, ensuring they run smoothly from start to finish.

This position requires someone who is highly organised, detail-focused, and comfortable managing multiple administrative responsibilities in a deadline-driven and fast-paced environment. Ideal candidates will have a professional, mature, and solutions-focused approach, with excellent interpersonal and multitasking skills.


Key Responsibilities:

Project & Business Administration

  • Handle telephonic queries and draft professional correspondence across platforms
  • Review and process applications, escalating issues as needed
  • Provide daily admin support to the Project Team and assist in travel logistics
  • Coordinate with service providers and manage OneDrive filing systems
  • Obtain and relay quotes/invoices between suppliers and team members
  • Submit and verify financial documentation with the Finance department
  • Maintain and update databases for stakeholders, suppliers, and internal records
  • Capture detailed minutes and follow up on assigned action points
  • Assist in the procurement and stock management of PPE, signage, and consumables
  • Ensure training sessions are set up with the required tools (e.g., tablets, systems)

Logistics & Communication

  • Liaise regularly with vendors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Manage replenishment orders and stock levels
  • Protect sensitive company information through strict confidentiality practices
  • Gather and track data from project partners, flagging concerns and resolving issues

General Support

  • Enhance communication and operational systems with suppliers and the internal team
  • Support general admin and other ad-hoc duties as needed

Requirements:

  • Matric Certificate is essential
  • A tertiary qualification in Business Administration, Project Management, Marketing, or a related field
  • Proficient in MS Excel (including pivot tables and formulas), Word, and PowerPoint
  • Minimum 5–8 years of experience in project or business administration (preferably within waste management, sustainability, logistics, environmental sectors, NGOs, or IT)
  • Strong command of English (knowledge of African languages is an advantage)
  • Valid driver’s license and access to a vehicle
  • Willingness to travel to rural areas
