Responsibilities:
- Maintain courteous behavior towards fellow road users and customers, ensuring a positive company experience.
- Collaborate with management to devise an efficient, cost-effective route schedule for timely delivery and collection tasks while staying in touch with the office.
- Safely load the vehicle within weight restrictions and capacity, adhering to instruction markings and client specifications.
- Secure all loads with necessary equipment before departure, including corner plates, straps, and other restraints.
- Complete all required documentation accurately, including vehicle checklists, customer complaints, and delivery records.
- Ensure proper completion of Waybills and PODs by customers to prevent service delays.
- Assist with Customs Stops & Tailboard Inspections, collecting necessary releases and documents.
- Deliver cargo to clients/customers on schedule.
- Adhere to road laws and safety regulations, promptly reporting any accidents.
- Maintain a professional appearance and keep the vehicle clean and presentable.
- Ensure compliance with company regulations in all activities.
- Collect cargo from clients in Namibia and South Africa, ensuring proper securing for safe transport.
- Familiarity with routes in Johannesburg, Windhoek, and between Windhoek and Johannesburg.
- Safely drive the truck cross border in a timely manner.
- Proactively manage border crossings to facilitate smooth passage.
- Utilize electronic devices for PODs.
- Sign for correct shipments and document any damages.
- Take photos of damaged shipments as needed.
- Stop the vehicle only at safe, pre-agreed locations along the route, inspecting vehicle condition at each stop.
- No unauthorized passengers allowed.
Requirements:
- Matric/Grade 12/Senior Certificate or equivalent qualification.
- Valid Driver’s license with PDP and DG classification.
- Knowledge of Customs documentation.
