Introduction
Our client in the FMCG industry is seeking a Code 10 Truck Driver (and Assistant) for a temporary fixed-term contract lasting between 3 to 6 months. This role is part of a trial project.
Duties & Responsibilities
Ways of Working
- Perform a vehicle inspection on ITX upon arrival at the Partner Depot.
- Report to the Depot Manager and verify all invoices against picked stock.
- Load all orders onto the vehicle with assistance from the Truck Driver Assistant.
- Secure stock safely to prevent damage during transportation.
- Deliver orders to outlets, collect full cash payments, or ensure receipt of Proof of Payment via WhatsApp for shop-to-shop payments.
- Assist with offloading stock and lock the vehicle before entering stores for payment.
- Continue the delivery route until all orders are delivered.
- Return to the Partner Depot for additional loads, if necessary.
- Report any issues encountered, such as rejected orders, to the Field Manager for support.
- Ensure rejected stock is returned and credits are processed upon return to the depot.
- Complete cash-up and reconcile finances, reporting any discrepancies to the Field Manager.
- Take responsibility for any outstanding payments during cash-up.
- Park and lock the truck in a secure location at the end of the day.
- Adhere to all traffic laws, Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations, and company policies.
Truck Maintenance (Business Use Only)
- Clean and wash the allocated vehicle (inside and outside) at least once a week.
- Conduct daily pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections using the GPS app.
- Report incidents or accidents to the Line Manager and Fleet Department immediately or as soon as possible.
Desired Experience & Qualifications
- Education: Matric (Grade 12)
- License: Valid Code 10 PrDP License
Package & Remuneration
- Salary: R8,500.00 per month
