About the Role
Intercare Sandton Day Hospital (Pty) Ltd, located in Morningside, Johannesburg, is seeking to hire an Admissions Clerk. This role is responsible for delivering professional customer service by effectively communicating with various stakeholders involved in the patient admission process.

As an Admissions Clerk, you will be the first point of contact at the hospital’s front desk, ensuring a smooth and efficient admission, reception, and payment process. Your responsibilities will include welcoming and directing patients and visitors, assisting with admission documentation and authorizations, handling phone inquiries, and providing relevant information as needed.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage the reception, admission, and cashier areas efficiently.
  • Answer phone calls and provide necessary assistance.
  • Welcome and guide patients and visitors to their designated areas.
  • Assist patients with completing admission forms.
  • Accurately capture admission information in a timely manner.
  • Ensure all admitted patients have the required authorization or have made necessary payments before admission.
  • Process and allocate payments with precision.
  • Provide support in other reception areas as needed.

Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric) qualification.
  • Minimum of 2 years of administrative experience in a medical facility.
  • Knowledge of medical schemes and admission procedures.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and good typing skills.
